In 2019 The Cranbrook and District Arts Council with the help of Canada Cultural Spaces Fund and Columbia Basin Trust acquired a new building.  The purpose of this building is to provide a space to facilitate the growing need to develop the arts in Cranbrook.   The intention of this space is to provide  a facility that is a dedicated art gallery, workshop, and teaching space. As of January 2020, 1401 Art Space "Phase One" of renovations were completed. It being used for a variety of workshops and art programs for all ages with more artistic opportunities coming. When not in use for Artistic expression, this multi use environment is also open as a rental space that will accommodate many applications. Our mandate is to be a committed part of our community. We are excited to offer our 1401 Art Space as a wonderful place to rent to meet community needs. See the room rental information package here
