Using handbuilding methods, you will design and construct your own pot for growing strawberry or herb plants. You will learn how to design and use a template to measure and construct your project, how to properly cut and join slabs and create surface textures. Once our Patio Planters are fired we spend an afternoon together planting our pots in partnership with Top Crop!
A little bit about your Instructors:
Kristin is a multidisciplinary Artist and art educator that has been making art with kids and teens for 20 years. Although she primarily works with clay and wool, printmaking is a love she returns to frequently and is one of her favorite things to teach.
Karen has always loved playing, practicing and working with clay. The first clay she used was found by her Dad, when he was digging post-holes for a gate. She used and “fired” the clay in the sun, while she played in her sandbox. At present, Karen works both on the wheel and with hand-building methods. She has instructed with clay for many years and enjoys working with both children and adults.
