Discover the art of hand-built clay in this beginner-friendly course, where you’ll create unique pieces using templates and explore elegant surface design techniques. You will have the opportunity to work with a range of tar paper templates and each class will feature a new surface decoration technique, including craft foam stencils, water etching, mono printing and mishima to expand your creative toolbox. 


Kaitlyn Zacharias is a ceramic instructor based in Cranbrook, BC. She earned her BFA in Ceramics from the Alberta College of Art + Design and has been working with clay since 2012. Kaitlyn enjoys teaching both handbuilding and wheel-throwing techniques and loves to share her knowledge of form, texture, surface design and tar paper templates with her students.
