About the Event

Mulit Day

Sat April 15, 5:00 - 9:00

Sun May 7, 1:00 - 3:00

Come with a friend, partner or significant other for this enjoyable evening out. The main focus of this “Date Night” will be using clay slabs to create a goblet and plate. Three different options will be offered; a shared snack platter (with two goblets), goblets with individual appy plates or a sushi dish set (for two) will be the choices. Several levels will be offered for the making of the projects from simplistic to more complex, lots of help, samples and patterns will be available for use.

Participants will have sample projects to use as a guide in designing their own work. Basic steps along with more advanced techniques will be demonstrated and/or addressed. All tools and supplies will be provided for this casual fun session. After designing and starting the projects - participants will be able to enjoy a dinner of pizza, salad and dessert. Then at a later date, participants will return to glaze their projects.

Karen has always loved playing, practicing and working with clay. The first clay she used was found by her Dad, when he was digging post-holes for a gate. She used and “fired” the clay in the sun, while she played in her sandbox. At present, Karen works both on the wheel and with hand-building methods. She has instructed with clay for many years and she enjoys working with both children and adults.
