Master the Expansion: Throwing Wide & Designing Rims Ready to break free from standard cylinders and master the art of the wide expanse? Join us for an intensive workshop series designed to push your clay outward (and elevate your finishes!) In this series, you will conquer the unique physics of throwing wide open forms, like shallow bowls, low platters, and wide plates, without sagging or collapsing. Once we master the base, we will dive into the architecture of the rim. Depending on your skill level and interest, you will learn to sculpt classic profiles, build functional galleries for lids, or experiment with expressive altered rims. Skills You Will Learn:
• Flawless Expansion: Techniques for centering wide, low discs and opening with a broad, sweeping interior curve.
