This intermediate ceramics class will focus on refining your skills in both handbuilding and surface design. Projects include hand-built template mugs or a square bowl, a lidded jar, and your choice of a cream and sugar set or a medium pitcher. We’ll work with a range of tar paper templates, and each class will feature a new surface decoration technique, including craft foam stencils, water etching, mono printing and mishima to expand your creative toolbox. Ideal for students with some clay experience who want to refine their handbuilding skills and learn some fun new surface techniques.

Kaitlyn Zacharias is a ceramic instructor based in Cranbrook, BC. She earned her BFA in Ceramics from the Alberta College of Art + Design and has been working with clay since 2012. Kaitlyn enjoys teaching both handbuilding…
